고등 영어_[YBM박]__[6과]_본문(3)

1.    After seeing Cusco, we moved to Huyro, the site where we would be working.

2.   My heart beat at the beautiful surroundings.    I was excited about the work I would be doing. 

 

3.   All the staff and other volunteers who had arrived in Huyro earlier welcomed us with warm hearts. 

4.   The next morning we began working at the site.    To arrive at the site, we had to walk up a mountain for thirty minutes.

5.    I imagined that we were in an Indiana Jones movie, making a path through the forest to find evidence of the ancient Inca civilization. 

6.   At the archaeological site, we pulled out weeds and cut down trees that had grown to cover the site.   Then, while digging at the site, we found some pieces of ancient pottery.

7.  The head archaeologist, a Peruvian, discovered a large pottery piece.    He said it might have been the side of a pot that was used to store beans.

8.   By early afternoon, working in the heat and the thin air, I was exhausted.   After days of hard work, however, I was pleased that I had been part of such a worthy project as preserving the remains of the ancient Inca civilization.

 

 

 

 

 

 

[ 후이로로 이동 ] 

1.  쿠스코를 둘러본 후, 우리는 작업할 장소인 후이로로 이동했습니다.

2. 아름다운 주변 환경에 가슴이 뛰었고, 내가 하게 될 일에 대해 설레었습니다.

 

[ 유적지에서의 작업 ]

3.  [ 따뜻한 환영 ] 후이로에 먼저 도착한 직원들과 다른 자원봉사자들이 우리를 따뜻하게 맞아주었습니다.

4.  [ 현장작업 ] 다음 날 아침, 우리는 현장에서 작업을 시작했습니다.   현장에 도착하려면 산을 30분 동안 올라가야 했습니다.

5.  [ 영화같은 상상 ]  나는 우리가 인디애나 존스 영화 속에 있는 것처럼 숲을 가로질러 고대 잉카 문명의 증거를 찾는 상상을 했습니다.

6.  [ 현장에서 작업, 도자기 조각 발견 ]  고고학 현장에서 우리는 자란 잡초를 뽑고, 유적지를 덮은 나무들을 베었습니다.

                                                           그러다가 유적지에서 땅을 파다가 우리는 고대 도자기 조각을 발견했습니다.

7.  [ 고고학자님의 추측 ]  페루인 수석 고고학자는 큰 도자기 조각을 발견했습니다. 그는 그것이 콩을 저장하는 데 사용된 항아리의 일부였을 수 있다고 말했습니다.

8. [ 작업의 어려움과 보람 ]   얇은 공기와 더위 속에서 일하다 보니 이른 오후에 나는 지쳤습니다. 하지만 며칠간의 고된 작업 후, 고대 잉카 문명의 유적을 보존하는 가치 있는 프로젝트에 참여한 것이 기뻤습니다.
