❶   In Dutch bicycle culture, it is common to have a passenger on the backseat. 

❷   So as to follow the rider’s movements, the person on the backseat needs to hold on tightly.  

❸   Bicycles turn not just by steering but also by leaning, so the passenger needs to lean the same way as the rider. 

❹   A passenger who would keep sitting up straight would literally be a pain in the behind. 

❺   On motorcycles, this is even more critical. 

❻  Their higher speed requires more leaning on turns, and a lack of coordination can be disastrous. 

❼  The passenger is a true partner in the ride, expected to mirror the rider’s every move.

 

 

 

 

 

 

❶   [ 네덜란드의 자전거 문화 ]   네덜란드의 자전거 문화에서, 뒷좌석에 동승자를 앉히는 것은 흔하다.

❷   [ 운전자의 움직임을 따르기 ]   자전거 운전자의 움직임을 따르기 위해서, 뒷좌석에 앉은 사람은 꽉 잡을 필요가 있다.

❸   [ 자전거의 회전 방식 ]  자전거는 핸들을 조종하는 것 뿐만 아니라 (몸을) 기울임으로써 방향을 바꾸기 때문에

      동승자는 자전거 운전자와 같은 방향으로 (몸을) 기울일 필요가 있다.

❹   [ 똑바로 앉기 : 골칫거리 ]  뒷좌석에서 계속해서 똑바로 앉아있는 동승자는 말 그대로 뒷좌석의 골칫거리가 될 것이다.

❺   [ 오토바이에서는 더 중요 ]  오토바이를 탈 때는, 이것이 훨씬 더 중요하다.

❻   [ 더 큰 속도와 기울임 ]   오토바이의 더 높은 속도는 방향을 바꿀 때 더 많이(몸을)기울일 것을 요구하고, 협응의 부족은 재앙이 될 수 있다.

❼   [ 동승자의 역할 ]  동승자는 운전자의 모든 움직임을 따라하도록 기대되기 때문에 주행 시 진정한 동반자이다.
