스트레스를 받는 상사와의 회의는 배울 수 있는 기회가 된다. 
긴장이 되는 첫 데이트는 새로운 사람과의 멋진 밤이 된다. 
주방용 체는 모자가 된다. 
일반적으로, 호기심은 우리로 하여금 스트레스를 받는 상황을 위협보다는 도전으로 여기게 하고, 어려움을 터놓고 말하게 하고, 문제 해결에 있어 새로운 접근을 시도하도록 동기를 부여해 준다. 
실제로 호기심은 스트레스에 대한 방어적인 반응이 줄어들고, 그 결과 짜증에 반응할 때 공격성이 줄어드는 것과 관련이 있다.
