The difference in message delivery due to native and foreign accents

 

❶ It turns out that we tend to have more doubt about the truth of the facts described by speakers with a foreign accent compared to native speakers.

❷ For example, if we are asked to judge whether we believe the content is real in the phrase Ants do not sleep, we believe it to be more true when someone with a native accent says it rather than someone with a foreign accent.
